Paul Zak: Trust, morality - and oxytocin
Where does morality come from -- physically, in the brain? In this talk neuroeconomist Paul Zak shows why he believes oxytocin (he calls it "the moral molecule") is responsible for trust, empathy, and other feelings that help build a stable society.
My favorite part of the talk is when he demonstrates how to naturally release oxytocin, so easy.
I love TEDTalks Youtube videos, they are truly inspiring and they keep me and many others like me learning about different important topics. Some you never heard about before and some might be close to your heart. Most of the the ones I will post here are close to my heart and I believe have an important message that we can all learn from.
Just in case you didn't know, TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Featured speakers have included Al Gore on climate change, Philippe Starck on design, Jill Bolte Taylor on observing her own stroke, Nicholas Negroponte on One Laptop per Child, Jane Goodall on chimpanzees, Bill Gates on malaria and mosquitoes, Pattie Maes on the "Sixth Sense" wearable tech, and "Lost" producer JJ Abrams on the allure of mystery. Widely respected for her grab-'em-by-the-collar advice and tough love, Robbins drills through the mental clutter that stands between people and what they want.
Talk to strangers: Danny Harris
Danny Harris is proud to live in Washington. With enthusiasm and passion, he explains why, and how his simple acts of conversation and kindness built his deep connection to the people of DC.
The simple action of talking to a stranger, being kind to one another is one of the messages we try to spread at Super Hugs HUB. These simple actions can open doors you never thought were available. I'm not talking about the doors that can bring opportunity to material things, but the doors inside your heart and soul you didn't know you had, that would bring an endless amount of joy and happiness
